Consider the story from the point of view of your character. Write a short blog to describe:
What things are important to your character (values / beliefs)? As Nwoye was the first kid that Okwonko ever had, he tried to make his son become a reflection of him. As Okwonko didn't have time to construct a good relationship with his son, Nwoye didn't have someone to take the role of father. Its because of this that Nwoye develops strong bond with his mother and becomes a sensitive kid instead of the tough guy Okwonko wanted.
Which other
characters does your character relate to? What are their relationships like
with other people?
When Ikemefuna arrived to the village, he was completelly alone, while Nwoye had to deal with his father everyday. They both had the same thoughts, problems and had lots of things in common. Nwoye finds in Ikemefuna the perfect mate and they both build a very solid relationship, almost like a brother to brother one.
How does your
character feel about the changes taking place in the village? Why?
When missionaries arrive with this totally new religion, Nwoye finds they way of taking revenge of his father and the society he lived on, which decided that his only true friend should be sacrificed. Nwoye becomes a Christian.
How does your
character react to the major events and incidents that happen in Umuofia?
The major incident that affects Nwoye is the murder of Ikemefuna. The fact that his father was the one in charge of this, makes Nwoye develop a kind of secret hate towards him and that is why he decides to leave him and his family to follow the missionaries.
