1.How is Okonkwo affected by his exile?
Exile affects Okonkwo in the way that it makes him more of a negative man. When he gets exiled and lose all the things that he had worked so hard for, he realises he had been kind of a jerk all the time and he brutally changes from being the man he was to totally the opposite. He thinks that working is not satisfying as it was then: "Work no longer had for him the pleasure it used to have..." (p 96). We can see that Okonkwo is in a deep state of depression because all things that he used to enjoy and care where now gone.
2. How is Nwoye affected?
As we know Nwoye did not have respect or any kind of admiration towards his father after all the things he did to him, specially what he did to Ikemefuna. When Okonkwo gets exiled Nwoye finally finds the way of getting away from him: he converts into Christianity. " "what are you doing here?" Obierika had asked when after many difficulties the missionaries had allowed him to speak to the boy. "I am one of them," replied Nwoye. (p 105). We can appreciate how Nwoye was waiting for the appropriate time to run from his father and the best chance he had to do it was by becoming the opposite of his father: a Christian.
3. How does their relationship change?
After Nwoye converts into a new religion, we see how the relationship between Okonkwo and Nwoye finally break up. On one hand, we can see how Nwoye tries to errase the image of his father from his head: " "How is your father?" Obierika asked, not knowing what else to say. "I dont know. He is not my father," said Nwoye, unhappily." Nwoye takes the fact of getting into a new religion like having a fresh star and tries to erase all bad memories. Okwonko, on the other hand, doesnt express any kind of feelings and tries not to talk about Nwoye: "And so Obierika went to Mbanta to see his friend. And he found that Okonkwo did not wish to speak about Nwoye."
4. Predict the end of the book.
I think the book will end tragically. Maybe Okonkwo will try to get Nwoye back into his life but he will get killed by the white men. Other way in which the story could end would be with Okonkwo becoming a slave. My finall prediction would be that after the seven years Okonkwo goes back to his village and finds out that nearly all them have converted in Christians.
A very sensitive response to the events in part 2, good work. Your use of P.E.A to structure your ideas is getting much better. Do remember to "include the page number in brackets" (p.21) after each quote. This is your citation.
